In order to quickly resolve any issues cooperatively, parents of LGBTQ+ teenagers should maintain constant communication with the school.
You should support your child's path and even turn into an ally of the LGBTQ+ community, in my opinion. Show your teen how much you care by your actions and words. Adopting an ally role is something that the teenagers I work with who have welcoming parents talk about very positively. "Mum bought me a shirt that said, 'I can't even think straight,' and ALL the flags," recalled Rowan* (*not their real name). This gave Rowan a sense of acceptance and even love from their parent. Giving people access to your child's information can be a cooperative effort.
